PTAC staff are contracting specialists who coach you through the government contracting procurement process, from start to finish. To do this, we offer support and services in the areas listed below. Most PTACs of Michigan services are free of charge. We encourage you to contact the PTAC in your area to learn more about specialized services offered.Get started
The PTACs frequently host training sessions to assist local companies in learning more about specific government procurement topics. Our educational events are also an excellent way to connect with fellow local businesses.
Your PTAC counselor will meet with you in-person (your office or PTAC), virtual, or by phone to provide one-on-one business counseling. This is an opportunity to discuss your government contracting goals, address specific client issues, marketing strategies, applications and registrations, bid preparation assistance, subcontracting opportunities, pre-award survey preparation, quality requirements, contract modifications, electronic commerce, troubleshooting, and more.
Locating government bid opportunities can be very time consuming. Electronic bid matching scans a variety of government agencies to provide a report specific to your company’s product or service. To ensure that you see only those bids you are interested in, we help you develop search profiles.
PTAC counselors can assist companies looking for assistance completing their System for Award Management (SAM) registration, DIBBS registration, State of Michigan Vendor Registration, or any others related to government contracting.
The federal government is not the only avenue for government contracting, PTAC can also assist with the State of Michigan as well. We can help with registering as a vendor in the SIGMA VSS system, market research in multiyear contracts, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise applications, and other information pertaining to Michigan contracting.
In addition, if you’re interested in procurement opportunities from other states or local entities, we have information on those as well. Related to that, if you’re looking for subcontracting instead of being the prime contractor, PTAC also can provide assistance.
Your PTAC counselor may help you navigate the proposal process by providing valuable assistance in determining what the government wants you to include in your proposal. PTAC centers frequently provide clients with educational courses on proposal writing, and are readily equipped to assist you in preparing and submitting one.
PTACs provide post-win assistance to businesses to ensure a contract is successfully completed, such as packaging and shipping requirements, Federal Acquisition Regulations help, and invoicing.
