"PTAC surpassed its goal of winning $80 million in government contracts for local businesses in 2011 by $20 million."

The PTAC of the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce surpassed its goal of winning $80 million in government contracts for local businesses in 2011 by $20 million and made news while doing it. The success of the Regional Chamber’s PTAC was featured in an article that ran in the Flint Journal and on mlive.com.

The article highlights the success of Genesee County businesses, American Electric Motor and Genesee Packaging. Both businesses worked extensively with their local PTAC to expand their operations by obtaining contracts with the government. American Electric Motor grew from seven to 200 customers with help from the Procurement Technical Assistance Center, and Genesee Packaging was able to rehire 10 employees after winning a five-year Federal contract.

“We’re the No. 2 PTAC in the state of Michigan for goals and numbers on a per capita basis,” said Tim Herman, Chief Executive Officer of the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce.
