The Thumb Area - Michigan Works! Agency provides job training assistance for Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac and Tuscola County residents. Using federal funds from the Work Force Investment Act (WIA), Thumb Area - Michigan Works! offers employment development opportunities for eligible youth and adults. Thumb Area - Michigan Works! is also the "Home of the TOOL CHEST", a nationally recognized method of service delivery allowing participants to develop, create and put in practice their own plan to employment development. The TOOL CHEST program is administered out of Marlette, Michigan and is host to the Thumb Area Procurement and Technical Assistance Center providing Government Contracting and Export Assistance services to the Thumb of Michigan.
