Registration Assistance for Government Contractors - Livonia
PTAC clients who are looking for assistance completing their Central Contractor Registration (CCR), SBA's Small Business Dynamic Search, the State of Michigan Vendor Registration, or any other on-line registration are invited to attend this workshop. Counselors will be available to assist clients in understanding and finishing the steps required for their online registrations. In addition, clients will have the opportunity to complete their registrations, using our computer lab. Companies are required to come prepared with information vital to the completion of their registrations, contact the PTAC for information on this vital information!

Marketing Your GSA Schedules Contract - Livonia
The PTAC of Schoolcraft College will host GSA contractors for a morning of instruction and conversation regarding marketing GSA products and/or services to the federal government. The morning will consist of a presentation by facilitator Mike Klewicki followed by a roundtable discussion of specific issues that companies are facing. The focus will be on finding new federal customers and increasing contract sales. This event is intended for companies that currently hold a GSA Schedules Contract and wish to learn more about marketing their schedule.

GSA Federal Supply Schedules: Finding Your Way to the GSA - Livonia
GSA (General Service Administration) Federal Supply Schedules are contracts that allow federal customers to acquire more than 4 million products and services directly from more than 8,600 commercial suppliers. Mike Klewicki, a GSA expert, teaches clients how to navigate the confusing and sometimes intimidating GSA procurement area and Federal Supply Schedules. This class is intended for business people who would like to learn about Supply Schedules, buying potential, and marketing through a GSA Schedule.

SBA 8(a) Business Development & HUBZone Certification Orientation - Flint, MI
What is the 8 (a) Program?
The SBA administers this business assistance programs for socially and economically disadvantaged businesses who want to access the federal procurement market.

The 8(a) Business Development program helps small businesses gain a foothold in government contracting. Upon enrollment in this program, firms receive help with finding contracts, proposal preparation, and contract administration.

    Requirements Include: The applicant must be a small business, unconditionally owned and controlled by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged individuals who are U.S. citizens, been in business for at least two years, and demonstrates potential for success.
What is the HUBZone Program?
The Historically Underutilized Business Zone Program stimulates economic development and creates jobs in urban and rural communities by providing federal contracting assistance to small businesses.
    Requirements Include: The company headquarters must be located in the HUBZone. Also, 35% of the employees must live within the HUBZone.

4th Annual Veteran Entrepreneurial Training Conference - Flint
Veterans attending this conference will have the opportunity to participate in educational workshops focused on topics like federal certification programs, government contracting, business development or business startup, financing, and bonding. Veterans will also be provided with time to meet with veteran business owners and government agencies for match-making and networking opportunities. This event is designed to coordinate efforts between Michigan businesses and service providers and help veteran business owners in reaching their full potential. The day-long event will assist veteran entrepreneurs who are curious about expanding their businesses and contracting with the federal and state government.
